Behind The Design | The August Collection

At The Design Part, we truly believe that design matters.  Behind the scenes of this website, we're a group of passionate interior design enthusiasts and we're always searching for and striving to bring together inspiring design for your home.  We feel that our environments are important for the way we live and the way we feel as we move through our homes and lives. While its important to surround ourselves with things we love visually - we also wanted to highlight the philosophies and stories behind the designs that we choose so that it becomes an even larger part of your home and connection to your space.

Born in Belgium, Vincent Van Duysen is a very well known for his work in architecture and design.  Whatever the project, he is known and respected for creating an all-inclusive atmosphere throughout his design aesthetic by seamlessly interweaving architecture, interior design and design objects in to a comforting experience.

5 Interesting Facts about designer, Vincent Van Duysen and The August Collection: 

• The tables and chairs in The August Collection were originally designed for Serax as part of his re-imagination of a monastery in Antwerp in to a beautiful new hotel. (The August)
• Vincent Van Duysen went on to enjoy recognition from this project with many awards and has an impressive collection of personal awards in design and architecture including a Lifetime Achievement Award - you can see a full list here
• His ultimate goal in every project or design is to, "reach people's hearts and souls. I want to do that by creating beautiful spaces".
• The tables and chairs in this collection are offered in 3 colours: a bold black, an ash grey and eucalyptus green.
• Functionality, durability and comfort are the prime components of the work.
